TatsForGirls Rules
Read all rules before participating in the forum.
1. Play nice.
As Thumper so rightfully said; "If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all." We're not here to argue or be rude to others, so don't do it. Our members are all a family of fellow tattoo-lovers. Be respectful to them, and it will go a long way.
2. No copywright infringement!
This is a big issue when it comes to other peoples' work. Whether data or image, quote or music, it needs to be accredited to the proper people. You should know how to link back to the site from where you got a picture from - so we'll just leave it at that, reminding you that it is a federal crime to claim another's work as your own. So just give credit where it's due, okay?
3. No advertising.
It gets seriously annoying when we have to wade through all of our members' efforts to attract people to their own websites, on top of the ads we're forced to endure by our hosting forum engine. You can have a link or a picture in your signature (as long as it doesn't stretch the width of the window), and you can advertise in the Advertise board - if we decide to create one. But other than that, you are not allowed to advertise. Even if it's relevant to the conversation. (If you refer to your site, that's okay; what isn't allowed is trying to get people to visit your site for your own benefit, such as saying "Hey! Everyone should join my site, it's awesome!")
4. No trolling.
In case you've never heard of it; trolling is the act of being a smart*** or an otherwise rude person on the internet, and often to unsuspecting and otherwise innocent people. Usually, trolling consists of someone making a completely uncalled for rude remark, simply because they can. This falls under rule number one, but because it's becoming annoyingly prevalent on the internet these days, I feel like reenforcing it specifically.
5. No spamming.
The initial Captcha box you had to type random letters into when you signed up should have prevented any robots from joining the forum; but that doesn't mean spam can't get in. Internet viruses and sleezy people who have no lives can wreak pretty sizable amounts of havoc with just a paragraph of words, posted over and over again. This rule is parallel to rule three, but since spam isn't always an advertisement, an extra rule is thus rendered necessary. If spam is proved to be harmful (as in, it'll ruin your computer/take over your internet/etc.) there'll be a notice around the site, warning you not to click on it, along with further instructions if needed.
6. Cussing is allowed - but in moderation.
We understand that the world of tattoos is not completely family friendly - which means cussing has no reason of being prohibited. However, we're not sailor-mouthed characters from a violent movie; we have dignity, respect, and courtesy. So please refrain from using foul words, every other word. A little self control won't do you any harm, we promise. Also; if you badmouth someone else, you'll be breaking rule number one. So it is highly advisory that you keep the badmouthing to yourself; don't use it on anyone else, or you may find yourself in a heap of trouble.
That's all the rules I can think of for now. Now that you've read through them all - and I hope everyone has - the only thing left for you to know is that, if you break any of these rules, the consequences will be swift and harsh. I'm not messing around with these. So be forewarned; the consequences shall depend on the situation and the individual. I suggest you just follow the rules, have a good time, and let others have one too.
